Marsiliana
The little village of Marsiliana is completely surrounded by 2800 hectars of beautiful woodland and Mediterranean bush.
The estate is a oasis for the wild boars, porcupines, roebucks, tortoises, birds, badgers and the other unique wildlife that reside undisturbed within the parkland. Once a week, guests, along with a guide, can observe these magnificent animals.
Close to Marsiliana lie several archeological sites of great interest, including the Etruscan remains at Roselle and Vetulonia. The town is also near the charming villages of Manciano and Pitigliano, as well as breathtaking beaches.
Maremma’s beaches are sandy, their seas are calm and their waters are at their cleanest and warmest from late May to early October. Boat hire is available from these beaches and is a perfect and easy way to visit the hidden bays of Giannutri and Giglio Island.
Marsiliana itself, is perhaps best known for its food and wine: fresh vegetables, ripe tomatoes, wild boar and excellent game. The town also produces Pecorino (the local sheep cheese) and the distinctive red wine, Morellino di Scansano.
