Porto Ercole

Port Ercole is a small city is anchored in the peninsula of Monte Argentario and surrounded by a blanket of beautiful sand and rocky beaches. Port Ercole has an astounding past demonstrated by the abundance of forts within the port. La Rocca, the biggest fortress looms over the port and the bay and is a must-see. The two other forts erected in the area are Forte Stella and Forte Filippo. Forte Stella, is named after its geometrical form, star, and is a place of great magnificence. Forte Filippo, on the other hand, is a formidable structure originally built with the best military architecture of its time and is amazing to see.
